WHY TUTORING WORKS

tutoring = ONE-ON-ONE ATTENTION

I was recently working with a student taking Spanish level 3. I quickly discovered that she was having difficulty conjugating verbs into the preterite tense. This is not uncommon! Why?  Often times it is because the student never mastered subject pronouns in Spanish level 1.

Can you imagine trying to succeed in Algebra if you never mastered simple addition and subtraction? How frustrating!

As an experienced tutor, I help to assess your child and hone in on specific skills that your child hasn’t mastered. Then I give one-on-one attention to your child in the areas that he or she needs the extra help, and help your child to become proficient!

STUDENTS DON'T KNOW HOW TO STUDY

As a classroom teacher I always encouraged my students to study for 15 to 20 minutes every day.  When I asked my students how they studied, they often times said they just stared at their notes.  This is not effective or enjoyable!

Middle and high school students need to be taught HOW to study.  I can help your child to discover new methods of studying that are both enjoyable and effective!
